Where your ₹1,299 actually goes.

Most brands hide their costs behind vague 'premium' labels. We believe you deserve to know exactly what you're paying for — from raw cotton to your doorstep. Here's every rupee, accounted for.

Why Supima Costs More

Five reasons this t-shirt isn't ₹499.

And why we wouldn't want it to be.

01

The Cotton Itself

Supima cotton costs ₹800-1,200/kg compared to ₹200-300/kg for standard cotton. You need a minimum order of 1,000 kg (1 metric ton) to even access 100% certified Supima. There's no small-batch option — the supply chain doesn't support it.

02

The Shrinkage Tax

Supima cotton naturally shrinks up to 15% when washed. We pre-wash every metre of fabric 2-3 times before cutting. This means 12-15% of the raw material you paid for literally goes down the drain. Most brands skip this step and let YOU discover the shrinkage.

03

Multi-Layer Finishing

Mercerisation. Bio-polish. Enzyme wash. Compressive shrinkage. Four separate finishing processes, each requiring different equipment, chemicals, and time. Fast fashion uses zero. We use all four. Each one adds cost — and quality.

04

Skilled Craftsmanship

Double-needle stitching at stress points. Colour-matched thread. Individual quality inspection. Our rejection rate is 2-5% per batch — garments that don't meet standards never ship. Skilled labour costs more than assembly-line sewing.

05

The Amazon Tax

Selling on Amazon costs ~25% of MRP in marketplace fees and payment processing. Add 7% marketing and customer acquisition, 5% GST (on MRP), 6.5% shipping and transportation — and you’re looking at a ~9% pre-tax margin. In an industry where brands mark up 3-5x, our margin is deliberately thin because the product is deliberately excellent.

“Our pre-tax margin is roughly ₹119 per shirt — about 9%. In an industry where brands routinely mark up 3-5x, we chose to invest in the cotton instead of the marketing. The quality is the marketing.”
